Just diagnosed research study
Have you been diagnosed with hepatitis C in the last two years? Do you think you contracted it more than 15 years ago?
If you answer yes to these two questions we would love to hear from you...
There are over 100,000 undiagnosed people living with hepatitis C in the UK, this represents over half of those with the virus. Late diagnosis can be personally distressing, with negative implications for successful hepatitis C treatment. We urgently need to find out what is preventing people getting tested and how we can overcome those barriers.
The Hepatitis C Trust, in conjunction with Dr Magdalena Harris of The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), is conducting a study exploring the issue of late diagnosis. This is part of a broader LSHTM research project: 'The hepatitis C treatment journey'.
Your input could really help us understand why people are not being tested for hepatitis C and inform future work to remove barriers to testing and raise hepatitis C awareness.
